I need daily gridded maximum and minimum temperature data on daily scale to run a hydrological model (SWAT model). Where can I can get data over global domain or over India? Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) does not provide these data freely. What is the other reliable and free sources where I can get those data?

In addition to specifying the desired parameter (min/max T), geographical domain of interest (India or the globe) and the time frequency (daily), you should also be clear about
- the time period of relevance for your work (start and end dates)
- the spatial resolution needed
- the accuracy required
because the various products available exhibit rather different properties. If you plan to use a SWAT locally, you will probably have to interpolate gridded values, but the original spatial and temporal resolutions of the re-analysis data may be critical to ensure the accuracy you require.
In any case, the re-analysis efforts of ECMWF are arguably the reference source of gridded data worldwide. Please visit the following web sites for more information:

Dear Javed. Michel is entirely right. If you are not dealing with real time and can cope with data stopping in 2014, then the data set WFDEI may suit you.

Another gridded observation data set is Aphrodite for South Asian domain. I think that they offer Tmin/max as well.
You may also consider downscaled reanalyses runs from the CORDEX for India, but it is not observed, but the model simulations are influenced by observations.

Javed Akhter you can get the daily gridded max and min temperature data from IMD in gridded format, and then convert it to csv to get the data for each grid points.
