Kharon Malware Dataset http://kharon.gforge.inria.fr/dataset/index.html you can find detailed analyzed Android malware. Just take the hash and download the file from https://koodous.com/
You can get a malware dataset at the following link:
https://www.sec.cs.tu-bs.de/~danarp/drebin/
I have worked on this malware dataset in the past (5 months ago) and instrumented their apps through our developed tool. We captured around 1000 malicious and normal apps logs. The logs are captured through real human interaction. We already published the log dataset. You can find more information regarding the log dataset at following link:
I know it is a bit late, but in Koodous (https://koodous.com/) we have a dataset for students and research ready to use, with more than 100K samples (50% goodware/50% malware).
try to get GNOME (http://www.malgenomeproject.org/) data set...better for Android Malware analysis. I have also used same....or you can refer my paper "Anti-Hijack: Runtime Detection of Malware Initiated Hijacking in Android" . you can download full text of that paper from my profile.
I have downloaded the android malicious apps from drebin. But where to download the android benign apps. i need at least around 8000 benign apps from different categories
Nowadays, we can find other projects available, some of them are:
Drebin is a good project with a research article to support it, it provides a malware dataset that has 5560 integrated by 179 families.
AndroZoo includes 5669661 applications downloaded from different sources (it includes apps from Google Play)
Virushare is another repository, it is a good choise if you can work with it.
DroidCollector provides Apks (8000 benign apps and 8860 malwares) and .pcap files, this project has some research articles, and they applied both static and dinamic analysis in their study.
Another good option to analyse the last malware is to download them from Contagio mobile
Android Malware Dataset (AMD) has 24,553 samples, it is integrated by 71 malware families ranging from 2010 to 2016
There are many datasets. Some more recent and updated than others. This articles explains the top android malware datasets: "Feature Importance in Android Malware Detection"
