Mostly, Al matrix-SiC composites are produced by mechanical milling of elemetal powders in laboratorial scale as mentioned by Mr. Vikas. Some works related to the production of these composites were being carried out at DMRL, Hyderabad. I am not sure whether they are still working on it. You may enquire.
I don't think there are any manufacturers/suppliers for metal matrix composites (especially with nanoparticles) in India. If you want the composites then you can take help of aluminium foundries or any institutes who are working in this area. But prior to that you have to decide which processing technique u r going to choose and what weight/volume % of nano SiC u r going to incorporate in aluminium.
Unfortunately no company in INDIA manufacture aluminum matrix composite. It is also hard to spot one in abroad. An American company Duralcan supplied variety of aluminum matrix composites across the globe for researchers as well as for industries. A Canadian company Rio Tinto Alcan also supplies upon request. It is extremely hard to obtain proper distribution and reinforcement of nano ceramic particle in aluminum composite in locally made laboratory set ups.
Agree with Professor Isaac Dinaharan. Very difficult to produce it with available facilities. We have, P. K. Brahmankar some AMCs but not nano-reinforced supplied by Duralcan. Moreover, machining of nano-SiC reinforced AMCs may not be very challenging.
