Albeit the population of 700.000 people, you will find here in Macao Sar (Special Administrative Region of China, former Portuguese colony) Koreans and Japanese that speak English and Cantonese in their daily communication. They are thousands of families of refugees during the II World War that profit from Portugal neutrality: Macao was not occupied by the Japanese army. These groups have their own associations, cultural gatherings, and festivals.
