We are looking for porous particles of around 5 micron size, preferably with made of silica but polymeric or inorganic materials could be interesting as well. They are going to be dispersed in water-surfactant solution only. It would be nice to have monodisperse ones but it is not necessary. At micromod.de we find porous particles but size and shape of pores is unclear.

First references should be to NIST. See attached. As a crude guide 6/D[3,2] (when D is in microns) is the SSA in m2/cm3. You can correct for the density and then will get a crude mean size (Sauter Mean Diameter) based on the SSA of the material.

I didn't make clear what we actually want. We would like to have particles of same size, same material but with a variation in porosity. I don't know if there are companies who could provide one with these particles. Maybe anyone knows which research groups could provide us with this kind of particle.
