I´m introducing a comparison between 10 metaheuristics coded in Java for solving large instances of the Variable Sized Bin Packing Problem, and also with independent cost, but I need published best results so I can compare it. Non of the revised articles or Monacci PhD thesis publish the optimal or at least best known solution for this particular problem in every combination of items set and bins types.

Hyflex has this problem included in its library of problems. I would recommend you to read the Jar to match the operators to their number though.
You don't need the best known solution for your problem because the subject of your study is to compare a number of metaheuristics. the standard benchmark is enough in this case.

Thanks for the articles Mohamed, really hepfull but I remain "instancesless" for my purpouse since the most part of the papers describe how to generate instances sets with random values, and my random function creates different sets than the ones published. In the other hand, Badr have part of the reason since my goal is to assess the performance of 10 different metaheuristics, so with one of the the lower bound methods I can measure the quality of solutions. Nevertheless I wanted to stablish some kind of comparative with other reported results.

Hi Hamit, the paper you recommended describe the "form" of the instances but they don't give a hyperlink to download the instances they used for the experiments. I recently finished a benchmark instance generator with the respective model in MathProg to find the lower bound and the optimal if it's possible. Paper will come soon about this, but if you're interested let me know. Thanks anyway.
