Since this question is obviously related to your other question:
I just thought about some work by Antonio Agnesi's group (but other people are working in that area as well, of course): They used a ~100ps amplifier system (with high rep rate) at 1064nm and shifted the wavelength by SRS (stimulated raman scattering) in barium nitrate crystals to 1198nm efficiently. Thats pretty close to what you are asking for, probably the closest you will get without an OPA /CPA system.
Maybe you can ask him if there's a possibility to build a (inexpensive) source close to what you are asking for. Third harmonic of such a source is quite easy, there are commercial suppliers for that (us for instance). But building it yourself for a fixed wavelength is also possible.

We have not contacted Antonio Agnesi's group (yet) (if you alsk know other groups, I would appreciate).
We also tried what we thought a very elegant solution using Raman Shifts, but so far no success (too many, too complex non-linear processes happening together), so the efficiency in our setup was extremely low...
Further we would like to have all inexpensive, quickly, compact, efficient, and air cooled and I think we have too few degrees of freedom...
So still guessing and looking around
