Can someone please point me to a paper as an example to show me how researchers express the range of utterance length, when they talk about MLU?

I calculated the MLU of a 2;0 child as 1.4 words per utterance. However, I also want to specify that among all the utterances that I examined, the utterances range from one word per utterance to four words per utterance. That is, this 1.4 MLU represents a range of 1 to 4.

Also, if you know of any paper that talks about this issue of the importance of looking at the range rather than just the MLU, please share. MLU is of course a useful indicator but in this case, it is also important to know that the 2 year old child can actually utter a complicated four word utterance.
