When measuring the pump performance, what is the installation distance of the inlet pressure gauge from a centrifugal pump?

I would like to know some recommendations regarding the installation location for the inlet pressure gauge to measure a centrifugal pump performance. Additionally, if the pump performance would be compared with a one having an inducer before the pump impeller, what are the specific design considerations for that?

Any help or suggestions would be so much appreciated.
