When is the New Vaccine for COVID-19 from Oxford Expected to be released for Commercial Production . It is understood that trails on Human Beings have commenced . But owing to the extreme urgency the Vaccine is expected to be released by September 2020 . Is this bound to happen as the World is waiting this Vaccine with bated breath.
I would add that a vaccine wont be released if it doesnt hit the safety and efficacy requirements, the scientists involved can be confident but until it is tested properly there is no point speculating on a release date, 80% confidence doesn't equate to real world success.
September would be an extremely short turn around for something like this, the 1 million vaccines are currently being produced along side the trials so in the case of success there is a stock ready to go but this is a risky and expensive undertaking if it fails, however it is really necessary
Till today, two of the volunteers (both working in the research), have been injected this vaccine. Initial outcome is safety (safety first!). Within weeks, antibody response to the the
vaccine may be available.
