WSN applied in a harsh environment could have a degraded performance due to the high disturbance. For example, a WSN applied in control systems, the data detected by the sensor must reach the controller side to make sure the plant is within the desired performance. If the data is disturbed and never reached to the controller, the actuator might take action which will cause harm to the plant and yet reduce the reliability of the whole WSN. One of the solutions proposed is to have multipath routing protocols. however, we need to consider the delay occurred due to using such solutions. I am hoping to find an answer to which routing method I should apply to enhance the reliability of the WSN with minimum delay caused.
