Probably it would be easier to indicate a specific publication that turned out to be the most important according to certain criteria, e.g. a publication that became a key inspiration for the development of a specific, new research concept, research methodology, new research topic, etc. Besides, it would be easier to indicate the most important (according to certain criteria) book that you are the author or co-author of than the publication that, for example, was quoted and appeared in the bibliography of a specific scientific work.
