What's the best and most feasible method to detect and count viable cellulolytic microorganisms in samples of green solid organic residues composting?

Cellulolytic microorganisms are necessary to get a good biocomposting fertilizer. However, the methods to count these organisms depend on type of cellulose in

the culture media. We have been using carboximetylcellulose and whatman No.1 or 42 paper filters without good results. Is there any easy and feasible medium to detect

and count cellulolytic microorganisms?
