I´m working on a new project that requires the selection of a RO equipment, I was told a content of 90 ppm of silica and 200 ppm of TDS doesn´t seem to keep a logical relation. Can you elaborate on a relationship between this two parameters and their influence in each other?

Note: Total suspended solids does not mean total dissolved solids,
However, there is no consistent relationship between the concentration of silica and the concentration of total dissolved solids, which may be direct or indirect or random depending on the source and quality of the water.

Total dissolved solids indicate sum of cation and anions in water samples. Silica (
SiO2 ) in dissolved form is rarely present in water in dissolved form, in normal temperature and pressure conditions. However dissolved silica concentration varies as high as 100 ppm or more in various hot spring waters. Furthermore 90 ppm of Silica and 200 ppm TDS are most unreliable.
