I have studied and compared the enhancement of CO2 absorption by nanofluids in batch and continuous processes. i have found that the enhancement effect of nanofluids is more pronounced in continuous system (bubble column). but i cant explain the reason behind this difference.

Gas absorption occurs at the liquid/gas surface. If there are more bubbles, then more gas dissolves on the surface of the liquid, as the surface increases (summed over all bubbles). If CO2 is carried away from the absorber (continuous process), this further increases the productivity of the process. With a periodic process and the absence of bubbles, gas absorption occurs only at the site of contact of CO2 with the nanofluid.
