I make a measurement of 793 nm beam profile from collimator that have optical fiber input with fiber core diameter 100 um (beam is very multimode).
Measurement was done with two detectors:
1 - Beamage-4M https://www.gentec-eo.com/products/beamage-4m
2 -Thorlabs profilometer https://www.thorlabschina.cn/newgrouppage9.cfm?objectgroup_id=804
The difference between them is the large noise in beam profile that is made with detector 1.
What measurement is more correct ?
Detector 1 have matrix of pixels so its measurement is more direct than detector 2 that, as I think, have only single photodiode detector and rotating slit. So detector 2 works more integrating and smooth real noise of beam ?
