I know for ActiGraph, some widely used cut points were from Freedson 1998, Troiano 2008 and Mathews CE. Would somebody commend on which is the best one? Or if there are others available and should be used.
The largest Norwegian studies have used the Troiano cut points, so in the Norwegian context I think that would be the way to go. Following this logic the answer to your question would be to use the same cut points as larger population studies have used in the context that is relevant for your study.
For the Actigraph model, I did a simple review using the descriptors "accelerometer", "obesity" and "adults". The most frequently mentioned were Freedson 1998, Troiano 2008 and Mathews CE. I used my research Troiano et al. 2008.
The most used adults' cut points in ActiGraph GT3X/+ accelerometers are those proposed by Freedson et al. (1998). Although they could not be the most accurate, you have to consider collecting information using the same methods, so that the data can be comparable.
