I get frustrated by this. Colloid science seems to have been swallowed up by nanotechnology and very confusing terminology has arisen. I find many people haven't heard of colloid science yet discuss colloidal concepts as part of nanotechnology. Sadly, there are often errors and many aspects of colloid science are being "rediscovered" as if they were new. I see this in papers, at conferences and in discussion groups. I'm convinced that many of the current generation of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers in this field simply don't know or understand the vast body of knowledge that already exists. I base this on what I read and whom I have talked to.

What do you think? Are you "nano" or "colloid" or both? Do you think they are different?
