Hi, I have observed abnormal 2-cell embryo lysing in both the experiment group (electroporation) and the control group ( untreated).

Embryos were collected at 21.5 hours post-hCG. Electroporation was done at 24.5 hours post-hCG. Electroporated embryos and untreated control were cultured overnight in a CO2 incubator.

The timeline and data of one of the culture dish are listed here:

Embryos were graded at 43.75 hours post-hCG (7:45 am):

#2-cell: 12

#lysed: 26

#1-cell: 1

#fragmented: 5

8:06 am observed morphologically normal 2-cell

8:08 am observed the morphological change in 1 embryo: both cells were enlarging

8:09 am observed more changes in this embryo: both cells were fusing together

8:16 am observed more changes in this embryo: 2-cell morphology disappeared. Observed one-cell like shape. Pale.

I wonder what would possibly explain the 2-cell embryos morphological changes in 10 minutes. Thank you for your help!
