I am Ashish from IIT Bombay working on CZTS solar cell via electrodeposition method.
Why is CZTS efficiency not improving from last 2 to 3 years?
I am asking what would be the major approach to achieve 22% efficiency from Kesterite based solar cell?

Dear Ashish,
I guess the boost in the efficiency can be achieved by reducing the detrimental secondary phases which exist during the synthesis of CZT(S,Se) compounds. And may be some alternative device architecture may be another possible way to increase the efficiency.

Thanks for your response.
But if you see the XRD and Raman spectra of highest achieved efficiency absorber materials there are no secondary phases.
So, can we say the main concern is the secondary phase? I think the major impact is MoS2 formation.

You are correct it may be due to MoS2 formation also, but talking about the highest achieved efficiency devices they are Cu poor and Zinc rich, so it's difficult to say just with Raman and XRD that there are no secondary phases present, it may be somewhere in the bulk or at the interfaces.
