We are looking for many open source alternatives for developing a GIS-based digital twin platform which would basically have the function of displaying data from sensors in real-time and show the outcomes of modeling activities with heat maps and similar. Several license based options such as ESRI, IBM, etc. are available for the same, but, considering the wider acceptance and reproducibility, we must adopt something that offers license-free open-source functionality for displaying data. We have gone through many open-source applications, such as python, leaflet, QGIS, and mapview (R package). Please suggest if there is anything else that can offer much better functionality.

Srikanta Sannigrahi, good question. Digital twin of Earth should be Digital Earth (DE), of course. Theory of DE and its impact are well explained in Manual of Digital Earth (2020) - open sourced book: Chapter Digital Earth Challenges and Future Trends
For applications there are plenty of options - Google Earth, for example, or very functional solution based on CesiumJS. QGIS could be and should be used as a part of solution, but map could not be twin of scale-independent and projection independent Earth.
