I have pilot tested my structured questionnaire with about three people. It has eight sections, each having 10-15 items. The feedback so far is that it could be too long given that practicing accountants are very busy people. On the other hand, I am mindful of the pitfalls of a short questionnaire which may fail the validity test.

Through practical experience, we have discovered that at end of the day, principal component analysis and factor rotation may reduce the number of variables for analysis. The initial number is to collect as many variables as possible but only a fraction will be used for analysis.
