I try to stain AChR in neuromuscular junctions in paraffin embedded native mouse muscle sections and I can’t get the Ab (clone61) from Sigma and Abcam for the alpha-subunit to work. Does anybody know a good alternative or a working protocol?

mAb 61 agains muscle alpha 1 nAChR subunit should work. It was raised against a denatured form of the muscle-type receptor (Electrophorus eel) and it works even in immunoblotting experiments.
We use mAb35 and this is a possible alternative.
Have you checked that the Ab is OK using dot blotting or the like?

As far as I know it is not possible to use alpha-bungarotoxin on paraffin-embedded samples so I am looking for a working Ab against the receptor.
