Since June 25 th, there has been an unabated heat wave in our country & in neighboring countries. There has been lot of hardship & thermometers displayed readings that have not been seen before.
Global warming has become a challenging reality. It is well-known that the main cause of greenhouse effect is the use of fossil fuels in the means of transportation & in other activities.
Hydrogen offers a promising solution as a good energy source. Most of this earth is composed of H2O. What is needed is a cheap chemical process to obtain hydrogen from water, an efficient inexpensive way to store the gas, and smooth way to burn it & utilize the energy of combustion. Of course, when H2 is burnt, the “environmental friendly” water results.
Reasonable generous R& D budgets can solve the problems of utilizing hydrogen but allocating money for such purpose is obstructed by … I think many scholars know who.
Wind power is the cheapest followed by solar. Especially solar will lead to a decentralized energy system, what scares governments and energy companies.

One of the slogans of World Water Day organized by UN was "Save Energy - Save Water". Energy saving and finding of alternate energy sources than fossil fuels is very important factors in conserving water resources and also saving the environment from pollution. There are many alternate energy sources such as solar energy; wind energy and oceanic wave energy; which are all environmental friendly. However application of these energy sources is region specific. Though some of these are used in some countries, it is not widely used because of the initial cost involved and also the recurring maintenance cost. Hence it is important to see that these environmental friendly alternative energy sources are made economically viable such that more and more people can be encouraged to use these energy resources. This will thereby save the environment from all the ill-effects emanating from the use of fossil fuels.
I think that in the past decades technological changes has increased tremendously. It will further ecalerate....Considerimg this I assume that in 100 years from now we shall have energy sources we are not even able to think of today
