Employability as our main variable is to measured by 5 component (career development skills, emotional intelligence, general skills, experience, and discipline knowledge).
students constitute the statistical population so we can not choose some variables like job satisfaction as the consequence.
What we can do for the potential overlap between our main variable (employabilty) and consequences and antecedents. because employabilty itself is a extensive concept and components.

IT hands-on skills are very important. Someone who is well-versed in popular statistical packages has a definite edge in many disciplines as it can hit the ground running.
Being skilled at data processing offers a tremendous edge, especially in places where data is not taken from standard data sources.
And being able to do small programs and routines can raise someone's prestige, not only due to the fact that this is not a common skill, but also because in programming results are clear and more resilient to subjective assessments.

Research in the fields of career counseling and education shows that the most important factors related to higher employability are career development and career management skills such as flexibility, curiosity for careers, optimism, persistence, career self-efficacy, career decision making, resilience etc. Important could also be perceived several other variables such as personality traits e.g. core self-evaluations, openness to experience, generalized self-efficacy, extraversion and definitely ability for networking activities. Technical skills and good knowledge of foreign languages would be important factors relevant to employability, as well. Last but not least, socio-economic status (SES) of the family always tends to play a crucial role to many social and work issues.

SES would seem to be both an antecedent and a consequence, because of the virtuous circle that exists between education and salary.
I agree with you Ian. However, there are numerous other variables intervening between employability and SES due to the fact that nowadays organization of work has radically changed. Projects, short-term jobs and non linear dynamics in career development are the norm and not the exception. By that means, there is not a causal relationship between SES and employability. In other words, the notion of stable work has changed to the notion of "jobless work" as authors like M. Savickas (2012, 2013) state.

@Ian. Unfortunately, these variables should not be considered as only regional variables (suppose you are referring to the hardship in Greece). Uncertainty, employability, projects and non linear careers tend to be the norm worldwide. Do you think this consideration is wrong? Of course SES is important because it assists individuals to create and maintain educational and job opportunities. However, lack and happenstance also plays a role. Moreover, in most countries-at least in Europe- just a little percent has a background of high SES and those with high SES are mostly employers and not employees... according to the rules of nature..
SES or I'd better to say SES of the students' family]y can improve their social capital or networks it also may have some effects on career development learning. For example a student who his parents have higher education may have better chance to choose a good major at university or/and have better view about job opportunities.

4) experience in internships/part-time jobs.
5) written papers: short papers, contributions to journal articles, e.g. as coauthors.
6) active participation in events: conferences, meetings, forums etc.
7) sport achievements, fieldwork experience, overall health.
