There are well-known algorithms for manipulating DSMs and MDMs; for example: sequencing to minimise feedback paths and clustering to create modularity.

I wondered what other types of algorithms exist and how are they are used – essentially what are their features and benefits? Is there a published list of such algorithms? If so, where could I find them?

Any help in creating such a list would be more appreciated
