I am doing a buckling analysis of laminated composite with different cutouts.
I think dynamic stresses are the dominant one act on airplane generally. Especially fatigue stresses crack initiation and propagation.
I still remember the news items on the De Havilland Comet airliners, when I was in grade school. See this interesting paper.

The stresses are caused by wing loading and cabin pressurization. Very interesting read.
