one of the 5G challenges is the service migration of network functions. To meet low delay and reduce service interrupt over the migration one solution is to use containers instead of vm. A very promising alternative might be the session migration that requires less hardware resoucers and out of service time would approximately be almost zero. In a distributed MEC environment would it be feasibile?
Service Migration is inherent with disruptions. It improves cost-effectiveness and efficiency through disintermediation of software and hardware systems, physical storage, and maintenance. Services such as money transfers, online transactions, online banking, tax revenue collections, transportation, hospitality services, product/service promotion and advertising as well as general retail are realities in Kenya
Well, it is not what I meant in my question. I know the advantages about that, but my thought is how it would be possible to replace the current container-based service migration to only session-based one?
