In the area of thunderstorm forecasting, there are several metrics or indices known as Stability indices. You can use stability indices to describe the formation of thunderstorms with some probability. The matrices are Boyden Index, K-Index, Total Totals Index, Showalter Index etc. These indices have a specific value range, which represents their probability of occurrence and type of thunderstorm. If you want to calculate these indices, you have to download the desired global climate models/simulations (GCM) variables that are used to formulate the stability indices. Calculate the indices and check their probability and type. 

Before proceeding for this work, consult an expert in this area near you. I am not an expert in this area, but, I hope, this would be an interesting work.
