Hi I have been asked to check a weed species germination characteristics in "light" and "dark" treatments. Can someone please advise what type of "false light" I should use to check germination daily under the "dark treatment". I have a room with no windows which I can use to daily check the seed *upon removal from the incubators.

Thanks Ikram, the paper you share suggests "dim white light" is used to check germination of the dark treatment. But the paper does not present data (or reference) to show why that is appropriate? Can you elaborate please?
Light doesn't usually influence germination. But as a generalisation, light in the red wave-length usually promotes germination whereas blue light inhibits it. So choose!
Andrew I'm not looking for information about how different wavelengths affect germination, I'm looking for knowledge on how to apply and check a 'no light' treatment. Have you done this before? If not please don't answer the question.
