i have read ur TSP paper partially and notice the idea of 3-phase parameter estimation using maximum likelihood.  i was wondering if we can track the time variate amplitudes/phases and imbalances using tracking tecniques like kalman or nonlinear version of kalam ? is this idea done ?

possiblly to much litereture survey is needed before getting into the idea and its math derivation.

another question , is it challenging to estimate multi machine or multi line phasors? i mean is it any correlation on boding between multiple phasore in the grid? in that case maybe we can vectorize these measurement and enjoy the array processing techniques.

Smart Grid is a very vast area for research purposes.

I think first you decide that in which area you actually interested, then accordingly you can ask your query.

It will help you in reducing your time wastage during literature survey otherwise you will be in a big mess in finding your interest.

For example in case of Power System you can go for: Power System Dynamics or Power System Protection etc etc...

As some other replies have already stated, the overall domain of microgrids is too vast.

The short list suggested below is entirely in keeping with your background and interest, as in your earlier posting:

• Fast state estimation, bad data detection and bad data elimination for microgrids; data redundancy and reliability.
• Data filtering for detection of unbalances in microgrids.
• Detection of faults and microgrid operation anomalies, where speed of detection will be an issue.
• Islanding detection as a special case of the above.
