I.e., in the recent past, the corn crops in Romania were substantial, our country was the second and the third in Europe during two consecutive years. The peasants fill-up their barns with corn, and their needs (people and animals) were fully satisfied.

Due to the large amount of harvested corn, the market price dropped. But the wood for heating is expensive. In order to acquire one wagon of wood the peasant should sell two wagons of corn. So, he decided to burn the corn cobs in the stove instead of wood.

Another example is represented by the sunny hills where the vineyards or orchards were replaced with PV plants supported by feed-in-tariffs or green certificates.
