I believe that the main point of the industrial evolution is in the multidisciplinarity, where the professional has to have knowledge of several areas and technologies. Should rethink teaching methodologies and ways of learning, to insert in the new market.
I strongly recommend integrating the current manufacturing paradigms such as mass customization, mass individualization, and open architecture products. It is necessary to show the importance of changing customer requirements and the cost-effectiveness of design and manufacturing processes. On the other hand, the concept of circular economy is very relevant as well.
Probably one of the major challenges is to add a multidisciplinary approach to consolidate robust decision-making processes in engineering students. I think collaborative working can be one feasible alternative.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution urges us to think creatively about the manufacturing process, value chain, distribution and customer whole processes. Universities emphasize their role in shaping future technology by being the testbeds for innovation and educating future generations. Thus, universities, faculties, and professors are currently looking for ways to improve teaching and curricula, as well as develop new modes capable of satisfying the actual and future needs of organizations and societies.

The 4th industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) represents a system of extensive changes to the world of work, related to the introduction of a multitude of new (automation) technologies with diverse forms of application. Industry 4.0 presents entirely new challenges, even for businesses who have had decades of experience with the introduction of new automation technologies.
In this respect, the main impacts on the higher education are related to the need for new types of training and specific qualifications. Training courses in engineering need to be expanded to include knowledge about participation processes and the related methodological skills. Theoretical and methodological knowledge about relevant approaches (workplace and social innovation, research and development activities, design thinking, etc.) should become inseparable part of the established traditional engineering courses. Programmes for training future managers in the higher education sector should also be expanded to include a strong focus on participatory management techniques.

The problem is mainly in the difficulty of changing the methodology of Engineering teachers. In Brazil, many continue with the vision of putting the student to decorate numerous formulas and solve giant equations, without even showing in practice. Most should implement programming to propose forms of resolutions and relate to practical concepts. Since the programming of machines is one of the principles of Industria 4.0.
I emphasize that where I study, there is training for teachers every year, and the majority that is lacking are Engineering teachers, because they do not want to leave the inertia. Many have difficulties in relating to other areas and teachers.

Education should teach:
- to deside the multi-purpose tasks;
- to be able to understand the relativity of any knowledge and technology;
- to realize yourself in the digital economy, politics, communication;
- to be able to live in conditions of change and to create changes;
- quickly navigate resources, problems, technologies.
This is a highly important topic for the future of engineering education. Therefore we started a research project titled E-EDU 4.0 (ENGINEERING EDUCATION 4.0) together with other partners from Italy and Austria within the funding program Interreg Italia-Austria.

The technological revolution described as Industry 4.0 is progressing more and more dynamically. The reforms in the school system should follow this progress, so that modern education 4.0 would be fully adapted and correlated with the progress of Industry 4.0.
The technological revolution Industry 4.0 is carried out so quickly that education systems and fields of study, teaching methods are adapted to these changes often with a significant delay.
On the other hand, research conducted in research centers at universities should support the creation of new innovations in technological solutions for the needs of industry 4.0.
Therefore, the education system should be improved in such a way as to create as much synergy and correlation as possible between the current technological revolution of Industry 4.0 and the reformed systems of new education 4.0.
