Some literature say that are the same, others see a difference due to like or unlike molecules in the treated binary liquid mixtures.
It is very interesting if we found relationship,because the the thermodynamic methods are very expensive, while viscosity and density measurements are more easy and precise.
In addition we found activity coefficients values very close by the two methods!

Maybe you can look for the publications of Sergio Quinones Cisneros who, as far as I know, in the middle 2000s calculated viscosity values for fluids basing on thermodynamic EoS
There are a difference in status and in object
: * the isobaric diagram resume experimental data on the thermodynamic free Gibbs energy of a mixture
* the Eyring viscosity theory is a model ( with unknown error) for the free Goibbs activation energy
We can thus not comparate .
There have been serious attempts, by Hirschfelder and Prigogine amongst others, to derive the Eyring theory using non-equilibrium statistical mechanics. These attempts have led to results as Lorenzo Piazza mentions. To discard these serious and relatively successful attempts as models with unknown error is maybe too drastic. There are, however, situations where the assumptions made in the underlying theories do not hold and one therefore needs to be careful in its application.
