I am going to compare the ion/water transport through a single layer graphene with that through a carbon nanotube. I just wondering what the exact thickness of a single layer graphene is?

Theoretically, the thickness of single layer graphene is 0.345 nm (one atom thickness).

I agree with Dr. Hu. I just found a paper (http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jz100240r) which considered a monolayer graphene with thickness of almost zero.

You can consider the thickness of graphene as same as in the separation of graphite layers: 0.335 nm
Where does that article mention that thickness is 'almost zero'? I could find:
"A graphene monolayer(16) can be considered as the thinnest membrane reported so far, as its thickness is only one carbon atom in diameter."

Oops..
I made a mistake. Actually, I was misunderstood the Fig. 2 that shows flux versus membrane thickness NOT pore's thickness.
Actually, I'd like to compare ion transport through Multilayer graphene and compared it with ion transport in CNT (as same length of multilayer graphene). E,g., a multilayer membrane with 1nm versus a CNT with 1nm length.
Do I care about the thickness of the layers here?

In single layer graphene you dont care about the thickness (obviously, because is single layer graphene).
However, when you add more layers, then you have to care about the thickness, since permeation will be a series process (one layer after the other).
the thickness of carbon is not 0.335 nm, so why the thickness of graphene is 0.335 nm?
