To preparation solar cell in laboratory we need the electrodes of aluminium material to conduct for p-type and n-type. We must put masks on n-type in certain forms to obtain a high conversion efficiency of solar cell.What the best form of masks?
The best form is the finger structure collecting the solar cell current while allowing the sun radiation to pass to the active material in between the metal fingers. The fingers are emanating from a relatively wide bus which collects the current extracted by the fingers to final terminal of the solar cells.
The mask is normally a metal mask produced by laser cutting in an aluminum plate.
There is photomask which is used to shape the metal finger after depositing the aluminum by photolithography.
The spacing and the width of the fingers must be determined such that the solar cells must have the smallest possible series resistance and easy for mask fabrication. One other side it must cover as small area as possible.
