I think first you should check the roughness of CdS layer. A high rough surface can lead to peeling of film. For good adhesion you can try surface treatment to CdS layers. In your case, i think surface treatments using organic solvents will be more useful, like OTS n- octadecyltrichlorosilane surface treatment.
