I must measure the oxidation resistance of several cobalt-based super alloys. Since time is short, it might be a good idea to leave them in a tube furnace filled with pure oxygen to accelerate the process. This is more dangerous than using an inert gas. What temperature ranges are safe to use with pure oxygen?
