If we think our job is outdated then we have have to introspect our progress and performance in comparison to the organizational set parameters. Then we can decide what we are capable of.

As Andrew Yang emphasized in his US Presidential campaign, automation has and will put more people out of jobs than any other factor.

Interesting question. If you are thinking that your job is outdated, then you should probably check if you are the person who should be doing the job. More interesting though to me as a sociologist is the question of who told you that your job is outdated. If you have no control over your job description and assignment then you probably can forget about that job and look for one where you can do that job, i.e., where people believe in its function, or go reskill. Many options still beyond those.
