In my experiment, I took serum samples from two different age groups of mice at two different time points following endotoxin challenge--2hr and 20hr. I then used the serum samples to measure all kinds of different serum factors. Attached is a sample graph of measured LDH.

I want to analyze whether there are any statistical differences for any one age group between time points (e.g. Group 1: 2hr vs 20hr) as well as the differences between the two age groups at each time point (e.g.  2hr: Group 1 vs Group 2). (Note: The animals analyzed at the 2 hour time point are different from those at the 20 hour time point.)

Do I use a 2-way ANOVA + Multiple Comparisons to analyze the data, or should I perform multiple t-tests across all variables? I am not 100% sure that the data in this example serum factor (LDH) are normally distributed, but there are other serum factors I analyzed in a similar way that do seem to have a normal distribution. Should I avoid the 2-way ANOVA all together since some of my serum factors studied might not have a normal distribution? OR can I use the 2 way ANOVA for the serum factors that have normal distributions and multiple non-parametric ttests for those that do not. Is that too messy for a publication?
