I wanted to know if there is a solvent available that can dissolve poly(methylhydrosiloxane), but also can be evaporated to get back the same polymer afterwards?
Hi Abhishek Pariyar, I also needed PDMS to become less thick for my studies. What I did was - 1. Make crosslinked PDMS as you do normally (i.e. PDMS:crosslinker 10:1 weight ratio). 2. Add Hexane into the PDMS mix. (I use PDMS:Hexane 10:4 volumetric ratio). 3. Put it into oven 65 Deg C ~ 3 hrs or overnight (or in 80 Deg C or whichever protocol you follow).
The device integrity and transparency remains same as Hexane gets evaporated pretty quickly during this process. You can add more hexane, but the transparency will go down eventually. I hope it'll help.
