Hi,

I would like to fit a simultaneous autoregressive model (SAR) in environmental space to determine an appropriate nearest neighbour distance for filtering of occurrence data in environmental space using the R package spThin. In this method, described by Aiello-lammens et al (2015) in spThin: an R package for spatial thinning of species occurrence records for use in ecological niche models, data was thinned with spThin until the number of occurrences were equal to the degrees of freedom of the SAR (which were equated to the number of occurrence points that represent spatially independent information).

I attempted to fit the SAR using the programme SAM (Spatial Analysis in Macroecology, Rangel et al. 2006, 2010) but was unsuccessful. Can anyone suggest another method (perhaps in R?) that will allow me to do this?

Best regards,

Alesha
