I want to quantify and compare egg phenotype, using pattern (blotchiness etc.) as a variable. Is there any software to obtain such values from digital images? Alternatively, do you know of other methodologies to achieve this? Thanks!
Depending up exactly what you want to do, ImageJ (use that as a keyword and you will find it) has many tools for analyzing images.

The SPSS, this software has a lot of function on the analysis of the parameters, if you finished the measurements on the eggs. You could use the ANVO analysis program on it.
