I want to electrospin PVA. What should its molecular weight be?
Hi,
You can use 70,000 g-mol Mw PVA (>90% hydrolized).
Dear, use high molecular weight especially if you will use aqueous solution PVA.
In electrospinning, M.W. can play an important role. If M.W. is low (35, ooo) are easily spun into nanofobers at lower applied voltage(5-8kV).
So, you have to use the PVA which have more than 40,000 M.W and water used as solvent.
