What should be done in order to bring voltage to a constant level for variable speed driven wind turbine?

the wind is variable in nature and can be controlled thus it results in variable and fluctuating AC voltage. converting into DC is simple approach but directly getting regulated AC voltage is painstaking operation. can any one has idea or approach under consideration? please share
