Hello. I will conduct a study on young children's storybook comprehension. I will compare children's storybook comprehension for realistic and unrealistic storybooks. I have to measure storybook comprehension. In order to measure comprehension we prepared questions for: Character Recall; Plot Question; Event Recall; Reasoning; Understanding Feelings and Problem Solving (Inferencing). Is there anything else? Can you suggest me references on the issue?
We will conduct a pre-test. We will read a storybook to each participating child individually and ask comprehension questions. After the pretest we will randomly assign children to realistic or unrealistic storybook groups. We will read realistic and unrealistic storybooks individually and than ask same type of comprehension questions that we asked in pretest. We will compare comprehension level of realistic and unrealistic storybook groups.
