I am supposed to collect data with an emphasis on agripreneurs scattered in the region of Haryana. For this purpose I have started contacting Farmer Producer Companies/Organizations with which about 30k farmers are affiliated. As of now I am randomly collecting data based on the list provided by these FPC's. My question is how do I defend this sampling method in my synopsis presentation? Is there any sampling technique which can be derived out of it? What method is most suitable for selecting this type of data?
Multi-stage sampling (initially based on stratification and then SRS and finally you can use SRS or cluster) will be easier to minimize regional variations....it depends on your objectives, sample size, feasibility, affordability etc.

Kindly enlighten me if we can use multi stage sampling in a way that we have first selected all the districts of Haryana and then randomly selected some FPO's and then further randomly selected some respondents based on the sample size formula ?
Only SRS might not be effective to minimize regional variation..first stratify based on performance then you can use SRS in few steps .....don't make it too much complicated ...think in the simplest way and you can use sample size formula based on the performance or using any indicator related to your general objective.
