In a paper where there are many authors, should authors' contribution be judged by arrangement of names in the paper?

It is now very frequent that a paper has many authors. Recently, I knew of a paper that has 90 authors. I am not much in favor of a paper having more than six authors. When a paper has six authors, I think that it is upon them to choose the order of the appearance of their names in the title's page of the article.

Thankfully in my discipline of philosophy single-author papers are still the norm.
