What rate and amount of application of biochar for soil erodibility measurements?

I am going to run a new project according to evaluate of biochar application on water erodibility. I want to run the study under rainfall simulator and in plots. I have some challenges here:

1- What rates of biochar you recommend?

2- kind of application: a) spreading on the surface/ or incorporating within a surface soil such as 5 cm upper soil?

3- Any incubation do you suggest? like wetting and drying?
