Is it mandatory to use IR grade KBr for FT-IR.
What will be difference if I use anhydrous KBr.
Please compare these two products and suggest something.
Since IR grade KBr expansive, I like to use affordable one.
We use KBr for just metal oxide sample, like TiO2, ZnO, SnO2 and similar materials only.

In recent FT-IR instrument it is not necessary to use KBr in the sample.Onle few miligrams of sample is sufficient.
If you do not have a ART-unit dry the KBr. You should always check the water content by measuring a KBr-pellet without sample (than you also see when the KBr is dry).
